GREATER BEMIDJI AREA JOINT PLANNING COMMISSION NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS & MEETINGS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible, the Greater Bemidji Area Joint Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing in-person in the Council Chambers of Bemidji City Hall, located at 317 4th St. NW, Bemidji MN, and via Webex Video Conferencing (see log-in details on jpbgba.org), regarding the following requests: City of Bemidji – Z-22-80.00853.00: - Natalie Nicholson, representing Mewinzha Ondaadiziike Wiigaming, is requesting a zoning text amendment for the Lake Oriented Commercial District to allow Medical or Dental Clinic uses. The subject property benefiting from this change is located at 802 Paul Bunyan Drive South. City of Bemidji – CUP-22-80.03004.01: - Dennis Johnson, representing Northern Fire Hospitality LLC, is requesting a conditional use permit to operate a self-storage operation, as part of a second phase of development for a commercial lot located at 1635 Paul Bunyan Drive NW. City of Bemidji – IUP-2-22-80.03646.00, 80.4029.00, & 80.04105.00: - Kingdom Builders Christian School (Jon Ness) is requesting an amendment to the approved interim use permit Resolution 2022-13 on leased property (Mount Zion New Testament), located at 414 Lincoln Ave SE, to operate a private school. The amendment request is to add grades 9th-12th to the IUP as the current permit is only for grades 4th-8th. The subject building was the old Lincoln Public School which operated from 1917-1999. Northern Township & City of Bemidji – Section 20 Rezone Project: -The Joint Planning Commission and Joint Planning Board are proposing an Ordinance Map Amendment that will include a rezone of multiple properties, the majority of which are in Section 20, Township 147 North, Range 33 West.
