NORTHERN TOWNSHIP NOTICE FOR BIDS ROAD MAINTENANCE Northern Township will accept offers to do work until 6:00 p.m., October 10, 2022, at which time they will be considered for hourly rates on: 1) Summer maintenance road grading. 2) Winter maintenance snow plowing. Each item must be quoted separately. Winter maintenance will begin December 15, 2022. Contractor will be required to maintain approximately 13 miles of gravel roads and 37 miles of paved roads in accordance with township policy. Two graders with plows and wings are required for winter maintenance and must be operable at all times (backup equipment might be necessary). Sanding equipment is also preferred. Different equipment (truck/grader) shall be quoted separately. Contractor shall agree to a one-year contract, which may be extended after the one-year period. Documents of roads maintained each day will be required in the form of a monthly report. A Certificate of Insurance for General Liability of $1,000,000 CSL minimum and the minimum requirement on Worker’s Compensation Employee’s Liability must be included with the quote. Also, federal requirements regarding licensing and drug testing must be met. The Northern Town Board reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all quotes and further reserves the right to award the contract in the best interest of the township.
