On behalf of the family of John S. Glas, we want to express our appreciation for the warm reception we received at the closing ceremony for The Glas. Our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather would have been very pleased with the recognition as well as being known as the home of such a successful hockey program.
The past 43 years of players, coaches and staff have made Bemidji State hockey a strong contender with a winning tradition. The Glas is a definite part of the tradition.
Although John was not a hockey player himself, he did have a love for sports and athletics. This was passed on to his three sons, as well as his six grandchildren, most of whom competed in various sports at the collegiate level. May that tradition live on in his ten great-grandchildren as well.
The Glas has always been a point of pride for our family. As evidenced in the great sportsmanship, rousing fan support and established history, The Glas is a point of pride for Bemidji and BSU as well. Long Live the Glas!
