Affield to hold writing workshop in Bagley

BAGLEY—Farm by the Lake will be hosting a free writing workshop as a part of their Storyteller Series, from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Bagley Public Library, 79 Spencer Ave. SW.

Bemidji author Wendell Affield will be presenting on, "Reawakening Memory through our Senses."

This event is free and open to public. Affield, a Vietnam veteran, is the author of "Muddy Jungle Rivers" and the Chicken House Chronicles series, "HERMAN, 1940s Lonely Hearts Search" and "Pawns." Affield is a public speaker and holds Veterans Writing Workshops and other workshops to promote expressive writing therapy. He often speaks to veteran groups about PTSD and facilitates a Veteran's Writer Group at the Bemidji VA Clinic. He also is the 2017 recipient of the Minnesota Humanities Center "Veterans Voices Award" for his work with the underserved in his community.
