Robert "Bob" A. Falk

Robert "Bob" A. Falk, 88, of Hagali Township, MN died Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blackduck Evangelical Free Church with the Pastor Dwight Warden officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck, Minnesota under the direction of Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck. Full military honors will be provided by Blackduck American Legion Post #372.

He was born on June 3, 1926 at his familys home in Hagali Township, MN to Emil and Aloisia (Wanger) Falk. He was raised on the family farm and attended North Country School in Hagali Township. He then went to Chicago, IL and attended high school there but came back and graduated from Bemidji High School, being the only child in his family to graduate. He enlisted in the US Navy on October 21, 1944 and served stateside as a Carpenters Mate third Class during World War II. He was honorably discharged on July 21, 1946.

He married Billie L. Trimble on November 3, 1949 in Bemidji, MN and they made their home on the Falk family farm where he had resided since. He worked construction in Alaska and Greenland and worked at the Falk family farm in partnership with his brother, John, until his retirement in 2005. He served as a Minnesota State Representative in the early 1970s. He loved gardening and farming. He was a member of Blackduck American Legion Post 372.

He is survived by a brother, John (Tina) Falk of Tenstrike, MN and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Aloisia Falk; his wife, Billie Falk on Oct. 25, 2014; 4 brothers, Louie Falk, Carl Falk, Albert Falk and Henry "Hank" Falk; 2 sisters, Anna Mistic and Mary Nipp and 2 infant sisters, Olga and Emma Falk.
