THIEF RIVER FALLS - Bemidji lost to Thief River Falls Tuesday night in a closely-contested, five set battle on the road.

The Lumberjacks (2-1) won the first set 25-23, but the Prowlers (1-1) answered back with a pair of 25-21 and 25-20 wins in the second and third sets.

Bemidji forced the decisive fifth set with a 25-23 victory but the Prowlers won the finale 15-11.

“We just weren’t very consistent today,” BHS head coach Teresa Colligan said. “We had some moments of brilliance but we didn’t do them the entire match, and that was the difference.”

Brylee Colligan and Emily Falldorf led the team with 12 kills apiece while Alexa Greendahl had nine kills and led the team with 26 assists.

Katie Buckanaga had two service aces and Colligan and Karlie Leif each had 27 digs.

Falldorf also had four blocks to lead the Jacks.

The Lumberjacks return to action Thursday hosting rivals Moorhead.

“Hopefully we can regroup and figure some things out before we take on Moorhead later this week,” Colligan said.
