VFW holds annual flag retirement ceremony

The Veterans of Foreign Wars recently retired 310 flags at its annual flag retirement ceremony at Post 1260 Commander Bruce Malterud's home in Laporte.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars recently retired 310 flags at its annual flag retirement ceremony at Post 1260 Commander Bruce Malterud's home in Laporte.

It took about 18 people to fold each flag properly for disposal at the ceremony, a release said.

The event was attended by 27 VFW and Auxiliary members, and a potluck lunch followed the ceremony.
