PARK RAPIDS — Headwaters for Lifelong Learning will host "My Career in Law Enforcement" with Terry Smith from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Armory Events Center, 203 Park Ave. S.
Smith will discuss a variety of law enforcement positions from his book "Code 4: True Stories from a 37-Year Police Veteran," which was published in 2021.
The book covers how he began his career in 1966 with the Bloomington Minnesota Police Department, then went on to serve 30 years with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Smith worked as a uniformed officer, undercover narcotics agent, organized crime investigator, SWAT Commander and homicide detective, a release said.
The event is free of charge and open to the public as well as handicap accessible.
