BEMIDJI — The Bemidji Public Library will host "Tarot for Beginners" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the library, 509 America Ave. NW.
"Since the 14th century, Tarot cards have been used throughout Europe to play card games similar to Hearts and Spades," a release said. "It is only with the rise of the spiritualist movements of the 18th and 19th centuries that Tarot cards become associated with mysticism."
In this beginner’s class, participants will learn about the Tarot deck and explore how people use Tarot to attempt to understand the world around them, along with learning the basics of the Major and Minor Arcana, their meanings, how to lay out some of the more common spreads and more, the release said.
Space is limited, so register early by emailing graumans@krls.org to save a spot. Participants are encouraged to bring their own tarot decks.
