Snakes Alive: Science center, other downtown organizations host events for the new year

Angie Morales, Headwaters Science Center volunteer coordinator and educator, helps 2½-year-old Henry Thul learn about a common red-tailed boa on Saturday at the center.

Despite the cold, a handful of patrons braved the weather downtown to celebrate the new year with a number of activities that were planned at the Science Center, the Bemidji Public Library, as well as several other locations.
