Parks and Rec to hold virtual youth fishing tournament

The city of Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department is set to hold a virtual youth ice fishing tournament beginning Saturday, Feb. 5.

BEMIDJI -- The city of Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department is set to hold a virtual youth ice fishing tournament beginning Saturday, Feb. 5.

Youth ages 16 and younger are welcome to participate in the tournament on any lake they choose, which will run until Feb. 12.

Prizes will be awarded to the longest fish, smallest fish, and largest variety of species. The program is designed to get youth outside in the name of fun and competition, a release said.

The cost is $6 per angler. To register, visit www.ci.bemidji.mn.us . After participants register they will receive the rules and a tournament card in the mail. For more information, call (218) 308-3780 .
