Parks and Rec to hold intro to canoe classes

The city of Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department will host intro to canoe classes from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on June 23 and July 14, at Diamond Point Park, 1710 Birchmont Drive NE.

BEMIDJI — The city of Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department will host intro to canoe classes from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on June 23 and July 14, at Diamond Point Park, 1710 Birchmont Drive NE.

"Whether you are first taking to the water or have ambitious travel plans and want to improve your skills, we will cover essential skills like loading and launching, stroke efficiency, capsize recovery and navigation," a release said.

The event is limited to eight participants per date, the cost is $20 per person and date.
