Parks and Rec offers family snowshoe event

The city of Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department is offering a family snowshoe event from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, in North Country Park.

BEMIDJI -- The city of Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department is offering a family snowshoe event from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, in North Country Park.

The event is for anyone who has experience snowshoeing or wants to try snowshoeing for the first time. Participants will explore some trails and enjoy the beauty of the Northwoods, a release said.

There will also be a scavenger hunt along the trail. Parks and Rec will provide snowshoes or participants may bring their own.

Participants can choose the time they would like to arrive. For start times at 5 p.m. or later, bring a flashlight for the candle-lit trail, the release said.
