Sanford Health welcomes Emily Westover, NP, to the surgery team
Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota welcomes Emily Westover, NP, to the surgery team at the Sanford Bemidji Main Clinic.
Emily earned her undergraduate degree and master’s degree, both in nursing from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
A third generation nurse and career-long caregiver, Emily began her career in general surgery with Sanford Health, first as an LPN and later as an RN. Following her education as a nurse practitioner, she was a provider with Rocky Mountain Family Medicine before rejoining Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota.
Emily provides care alongside surgeons, physicians and other clinical staff to prepare patients before surgery as well as provide immediate care following the patient’s procedure.
“This is a full-circle position for me, I started as a LPN in General Surgery, then RN, and now I am back as a provider,” shared Emily. “It has been my end goal to work in surgery since deciding to become a NP. I am excited to be back in Bemidji and a part of the Sanford Family.”
In addition to her passion for caring for others, Emily enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, no matter the season, including ice fishing, hiking and snowshoeing. An avid runner and CrossFit enthusiast, she also understands and values the importance of physical fitness as a part of healthy living.
