Great River Rescue to hold free vaccine event

Great River Rescue, in partnership with Petco Love, will hold a free pet vaccine event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, at the shelter, 612 Carr Lake Rd. SE.

BEMIDJI — Great River Rescue, in partnership with Petco Love, will hold a free pet vaccine event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, at the shelter, 612 Carr Lake Rd. SE.

Petco Love established March as “National Pet Vaccination Month” to encourage pet parents to keep their pets up to date on vaccinations and will provide free pet vaccines to Great River Rescue for family pets in need, a release said.

Vaccines distributed through the Petco Love initiative will be the DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines. Great River Rescue aims to vaccinate 50 pets through this effort. Dewormer, flea and tick treatment and microchips will also be available at low cost.

Qualified pet owners must register for a time slot at www.greatriverrescue.com . Income qualifications are also listed at the site.
