Gallery North to host First Friday open house

Gallery North will host a First Friday open house reception for showcase artist Jane Long and her collection "Animal, Plant or Vegetable?" from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 15, at the gallery, 310 Fourth St. NW.

BEMIDJI — Gallery North will host a First Friday open house reception for showcase artist Jane Long and her collection "Animal, Plant or Vegetable?" from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 15, at the gallery, 310 Fourth St. NW.

Jane Long is a working public art producer and artist. She originally hails from Oregon but has roots in Minnesota and has spent every summer in the Northwoods with her family, a release said

"Jane has been painting for many years but has spent the last few years digging deep into the medium of watercolors," the release said. "She is inspired by the natural things seen in everyday life like flowers, vegetables, and animals. Using bright colors and small canvases, she hopes to bring joy to viewers with her depictions of the simple things in life."
