City plans after-school program for girls

BEMIDJI --  The Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department will host an after-school program for girls on Thursdays from March 22 to May 17, at the Public Works Facility, 1351 Fifth St. NW. The program, which will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., will not meet May 10.

“Celebrate being a girl during this after-school club,” a press release said. “You can always bring your American Girl Doll with you to help celebrate the fun.”

The program is designed for girls in grades K-5. There is a maximum of 10 participants. Register at or stop by City Hall or the Public Works Facility. For more information, call (218) 333-1857. The cost is $30 for the eight week program.
