Sanford Bemidji Healing Powwow set for Aug. 10

BEMIDJI -- Sanford Bemidji, Red Lake and Cass Lake Indian Health Service Hospitals and White Earth Health Center are hosting a Healing Powwow from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, 1300 Anne St. N.W., Bemidji.

“The powwow is intended to honor the physicians, health care workers and holistic healers who are dedicated to promoting physical, mental and spiritual health in the region,” a release said. The event is free and open to everyone.

Dancer registration begins at 4 p.m., followed by a traditional feast at 4:30 p.m. The grand entry starts at 5:30 p.m. Only invited drums will be allowed. A traditional pow-wow will be held with an “old style jingle dress” special, the release said.
