DNR donates to Bemidji Community Food Shelf

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Northwest Region employee Kerry Ross, right, presents a check for $929 to Mary Mitchell, director of the Bemidji Community Food Shelf. The money was raised as part of the DNR's Northwest Region Headquarters' annual food drive. In 2016, the Bemidji Community Food Shelf supported nearly 3,000 families and distributed more than 700,000 pounds of food to people in the Beltrami County area. This year, visits to the food shelf have increased by more than 1,000, officials said.
