SHEVLIN — The Clearwater County History Center will host "Smithsonian Museum Day" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the history center, 264 First St.

The event will celebrate National Museum Day where participating museums, zoos and cultural centers across the U.S. provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. Because the History Center already has free admission, a ticket is not needed, a release said.

"Museum Day Visitors can participate in several scavenger hunt opportunities," the release said. "How many scarecrows can you find in the exhibits? Can you find the hidden gnomes? If you find them you can pick out a small prize from our treasure chest."

Admission to the center is free but donations are appreciated. For more information, contact (218) 785-2000.
