BEMIDJI-Members of the Boys and Girls Club of the Bemidji Area learned about the importance of helping others and giving back to the community during "12 Days of Giving," a press release said. The 12 days included:
• Day 1: Cat and dog toys. Members made toys for the cats and dogs at Great River Rescue.
• Day 2: Rake yards. Members helped rake yards for Senior Community Cleanup day.
• Day 3: Visit law enforcement. Members visited the Bemidji Police Station and dropped off a card and veggies from the Club's garden.
• Day 4: Visit the Fire Department. Members toured the Bemidji Fire Station and gave a card and veggies from the Club's garden.

• Day 5: Thankful. Club members shared what they were thankful for in the community with the City Council.
• Day 6: Attend luncheon. Club members attended an athletic luncheon and brought a banner to say "thank you" for the help BSU athletic teams have provided.
• Day 7: Clean the den. Members helped keep the Club clean.
• Day 8: Cards for Principals. Members made cards for school principals to brighten their day.
• Day 9: Donate to science. Thanks to an anonymous donor, Club members gave $100 to the Headwaters Science Center that will help purchase fish for the Center's saltwater tank.
• Day 10: Decorate snowflakes. Club members helped decorate snowflakes and a Christmas tree at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union.
• Day 11: Make cards. Club members made cards for the residents of Tamarack Court, an assisted living home in the Bemidji Area.
• Day 12: Host card making contest. Club members held a card-making contest for a Gift of Gratitude Card. This was sent to about 250 businesses and individuals.
