Bemidji Public Library to host author Terry Smith

BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji Public Library, located at 509 America Ave., will host author and former homicide detective Terry Smith at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29.

During the event, Smith will discuss his new memoir "Code-4", which details his 37-year career as a "uniformed police officer, long-haired undercover narcotics agent, SWAT commander, and homicide detective. . .working on some of the biggest crimes in Minnesota history with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension," a release said.

"Blessed with a good memory and lots of newspaper clippings, Smith has written a memoir documenting his time protecting and serving the people of Minnesota," the release said. "From the tragic to the humorous, join us as we explore the steamy underside of Minnesota history."
