BEMIDJI — Beltrami County Historical Society will host a writer's workshop at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, at the History Center, 130 Minnesota Ave. SW.

The historical society is hosting a one-hour informational meeting to let participants know about writing projects with the Historical Society.

In the past few years, the Beltrami County Historical Society has kicked up the research and writing, heading back to the society's roots, when writers collected and produced numerous area history pieces for a variety of publications, a release said.

A new series of planned oral history and personal histories similar to the North Country History books that covered three decades, blog posts, social media page posts, website posts and more are gathering and sharing local history, the release said.

Other times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
