BEMIDJI — The Beltrami County Historical Society will host Frank Bera, of the Bemidji Woodcarvers Club, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the History Center, 130 Minnesota Ave. SW.
Bera will teach introductory woodcarving skills using soap and safety carving tools. Participants will learn how to carve a bear that they can take home, a release said.
This class is designed for youth ages 8 to 11 and is limited to 10 youth participants. Guardians must be on the premises during the program.
Masks are optional for participants and family members. Limit two tickets per family. Families may register on the Historical Society’s event website .
This activity is funded by a grant from the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council with funding from the Minnesota State Legislature's general fund, the release said.
