BEMIDJI — The Beltrami County Historical Society and AirCorps Aviation will host a paper airplane contest at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, at AirCorps Aviation, 1180 Adams Ave. NW.
"Join Beltrami County Historical Society and AirCorps Aviation to celebrate the history of paper airplanes, historic airplanes, and the magic of flight," a release said.
Airplanes must be made from single sheets of plain 8.5-by-11-inch paper using only folds, with no tears, glue, etc. A prize will be awarded to the winner with the longest distance.
The contest is open to youth ages 6 to 12. Participants are asked to register in advance.
