Barry Babcock to present at BCHS Brown Bag History event

The Beltrami County Historical Society will host author and outdoorsman Barry Babcock as the speaker for its Brown Bag History event at noon on Thursday, Aug. 18, at the History Center, 130 Minnesota Ave. SW.

BEMIDJI — The Beltrami County Historical Society will host author and outdoorsman Barry Babcock as the speaker for its Brown Bag History event at noon on Thursday, Aug. 18, at the History Center, 130 Minnesota Ave. SW.

Barry will be presenting on “The Truth About the Mississippi Headwaters” and discuss whether or not Henry Rowe Schoolcraft should really be given the credit and notoriety as the discoverer of the "Headwaters" of the Mississippi, a release said.

The event is free to attend but registration is recommended, seating is limited to 15 participants.
