The Bemidji Middle School Artists of the Quarter are seventh-grader Emma Buck and sixth-grader Ian Cash.
Buck likes to work with paper and pencils, and says that for something to be considered art it should have inspiration and determination. It should also be an idea on paper and be art from the heart. She enjoys the feeling of satisfaction she gets when watching her art projects come together, a release said.
Cash likes to work with tempera paint, and says that anything can be considered art as long as it's original or a recreation, as long as you're not stealing ideas. He enjoys the process of taking something from his mind and turning it into a picture. Cash says he makes art because it's something to do when he's bored and because it's fun, a release said.
