The Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce, along with Bemidji State University and Headwaters Regional Development Commission, will host "Stretching the Talent Pool," an event highlighting the value interns bring to an organization, Thursday, Feb. 11, at Paul Bunyan Telephone.
The goal of theworkshop is to show how internships benefit organizations and show how to successfully develop an internship program, and increase awareness of the internship program at Bemidji State University.
The workshop will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. in the PBT videoconference room. It will include a panel discussion, presentation and question-and-answer session with local businesses that have successfully implemented internship programs.
Student interns can provide extra short-term help and modern viewpoints. They also form a pool of candidates for full-time work who have already been evaluated in a real workplace scenario.
