Sue McLaurie, the environmental services aide for Nielson Place in Bemidji, has been honored by Minnesota's largest association of aging services organizations.

McLaurie was named District A Supporting Caregiver of the Year by the Aging Services of Minnesota last week at its 2010 Institute in Minneapolis. The Institute is the state's premiere event for professionals in older adult services.

Linda Barkley, the director of Resident Care Services, who has worked with McLaurie for nearly 26 years, said McLaurie demonstrates a wonderful initiative to complete each resident's laundry as he or she would like it done.

Aging Services' more than 1,000 members serve more than 100,000 Minnesotans each year in settings from homes to congregate housing to assisted living to care centers.
