BEMIDJI-Robert Enger, Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota; Mary Shequen Smith, Anishinabe Legal Services and the Northern Dental Access Center of Bemidji recently received a "Partner in Justice" award from Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota at its recent 40th anniversary celebration in Detroit Lakes. The "Partners in Justice" awards, one of the highest honors from Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota, requires the recipient:
• Have a career of skillful and dedicated service to disadvantaged and elderly Minnesotans.
• Contend justice is not to be rationed, conditioned nor denied, and that all are entitled to the benefits and protections of the law.
• Are masters of advocacy for the poor.
• Treat each person with equality, dignity and charity.
