Grant Coauette has begun serving a residential internship at the Chiropractic Sport and Spinal Rehab Clinic in Bemidji.

Coauette, who is completing his doctor of chiropractic studies at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, will assist chiropractic physicians at the local clinic in developing case histories, performing new patient examinations, diagnosing problems, creating treatment plans, applying therapies, and administering spinal and extremity adjustments.

Born and raised in Crookston, Minn., Coauette completed internships at the Marty-Gullickson Chiropractic Clinic in Hopkins and the Northwestern Health Sciences University Clinic prior to starting his residential internship with Sport and Spinal Rehab.

Before beginning his chiropractic studies, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He anticipates graduating from Northwestern in the spring of 2010.

Chiropractic Sport and Spinal Rehab provides technologically advanced chiropractic treatments, therapies and diagnoses. It is the only area clinic that offers computerized spinal decompression therapy, an FDA-reviewed and cleared treatment for pain caused by herniated, damaged or degenerated discs. Located in Bemidji's Technology Park, the clinic is certified to complete physicals as well as DOT drug screening and testing.
