Sanford Health welcomes Amy Roy, MD, to the anesthesiology team
Sanford Health in Bemidji welcomes Amy Roy, MD, to the anesthesiology team at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.
Dr. Roy obtained her undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL, and later attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, where she completed her Doctor of Medicine.
Post-graduation from medical school, Dr. Roy completed her residency in anesthesiology with Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, where she gained valuable knowledge and experience. She is also board certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Before joining Sanford Health, Dr. Roy worked as a staff anesthesiologist for many years at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Dr. Roy provides anesthesia services to patients of all ages. These include monitoring sedation and anesthesia patients; performing spinal anesthesia, epidurals for labor and pain management and various peripheral nerve blocks; using ultrasounds to place arterial and central lines; and providing anesthesia during procedures related to general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, vascular, neurology, pediatrics and more.
When asked about the care she provides, Dr. Roy shared, “I treat all my patients equally with VIP service. I always promise to give them my very best of care.”
In her spare time, Dr. Roy likes to indulge her culinary side in the kitchen and stay creative with knitting. She also loves playing with her three rescue dogs that always keep her on her toes.
