Sanford Health welcomes Katrina Erickson, OD, to optometry team

Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota welcomes Katrina Erickson, OD, to the optometry team at Sanford International Falls Eye Center and Optical.

Dr. Erickson, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in Duluth, MN. She attended medical school at the Indiana University’s School of Optometry in Bloomington, IN.

Following medical school, she gained firsthand experience through her internships in optometry with the Atwater Eye Care Center in Bloomington, IN; VA Hudson Valley Healthcare in Montrose, NY; Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH; and Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.

Prior to joining Sanford Health eye services, Dr. Erickson was an optometrist at the Eye Care Clinic in Grand Rapids, MN; Hadden Eye Care Associate in Bloomington, MN; Department of Veteran’s Affairs in Superior, WI; and Vision Pro Optical in Duluth, MN.

Dr. Erickson is available by appointment specializing in routine family eye care including contact lens fittings, pediatric eye care, treatment and management of eye diseases and walk-in eye care.

“When I think about how I want to be treated when I see a provider, that is the same way I want to treat my patients,” shared Dr. Erickson. “I want my patients to feel like I’ve listened to their concerns, treated them with kindness and respect, and I want them to feel included in the discussion about what their care/treatment options are.”

When she is not providing eye care, Dr. Erickson enjoys yoga, quilting and spending time cooking and baking in her kitchen.
