BEMIDJI -- After placing second in the Class A state tournament with a 1-0 double-overtime loss to No. 1 Blake on Friday, a trio of Bemidji High School boys soccer midfielders, as well as attacker Silas Hess, were named to the All-Tournament Team. Ben Hess, Aspen Galdamez and Pau Mesegue didn’t show up much on the scoresheets during the Jacks’ three games in the tournament, but they did enough to prevent opposing chances and produce opportunities of their own to turn the heads of tournament officials.

MINNEAPOLIS -- After a defensive stalemate throughout the entire first half of Tuesday’s Class A state semifinal game between unseeded Bemidji and No. 2 Academy of Holy Angels, the final 40 minutes were anything but that. Junior Silas Hess opened the scoring in the 44th minute, and Aidan Helwig added a pair of goals from there on the way to a 3-1 Lumberjacks win at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis to advance to the Class A state championship.
BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji High School boys soccer team clinched two more games in the Class A state tournament with a 1-0 quarterfinal victory over No. 3 Mahtomedi, and the first of those two games kicks off at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at U.S. Bank Stadium against No. 2 Academy of Holy Angels.
BEMIDJI -- As the top seed in the Section 8-5A tournament, the Bemidji High School football team didn’t have much trouble in its semifinal matchup against No. 4 Moorhead. The Lumberjacks sailed through the game for a 40-21 victory.
BEMIDJI -- For the first time this season, Troy Hendricks won’t be able to watch his son, James, in Bison green and gold this afternoon. As James is playing defense for North Dakota State, Troy has a game of his own, coaching the Section 8-5A semifinals as the Bemidji High School football team hosts Moorhead. “I don’t miss them, other than if we play on a Saturday,” coach Hendricks said. “That’s the downfall of the Tuesday-Saturday scenario. There’s nothing I can do about it (Saturday).”
