Brian George Bauer, 79, of Bemidji, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at REM Northwoods in Bemidji. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Blackduck with Rev. Dan Heath officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck in the spring under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck. He was born May 21, 1929, to George and H. Eleanore (Stomberg) Bauer in Blackduck. He attended country school at East Inez, Kelliher and Blackduck.
Lloyd A. Ruh, 79, of Coon Rapids, Minn., formerly of Bemidji, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. today at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel in Coon Rapids, 1827 Coon Rapids Boulevard. A private burial will be held. He is survived by Reva, his wife of 59 years; children, Sandy Saladis, Ken, Gladys (Kerry) Teale and Mary (Maurice) Aikens; five grandchildren; sister, Vi Siemers; brothers, Arnold (Lita) and Marvin Ruh; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Tony. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Brian "Bruno" Keith Jourdain, 43, of Red Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at Fairview Hospital in Edina, Minn. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Mission Catholic Church in Red Lake with the Rev. Pat Sullivan officiating. A wake will begin Sunday at the Little Rock Center and will continue until the time of the funeral on Tuesday. Burial will be in St.
Mary "Angie" Angeline (Morrison) Lyons, Ma-Soj, (Bear Clan), 91, of Red Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at the Red Lake Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake with the Rev. Pat Sullivan officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. The Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with the arrangements. She was born Aug. 11, 1917, to Joseph and Esther (Johnson) Morrison in Red Lake. She grew up in Red Lake and graduated from Red Lake Boarding School.
John Richard Bryan, 79, of Debs, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church near Debs with the Rev. Jay Borchert officiating. He was born Jan. 17, 1930, to Robert and Marguerite Bryan in La Porte City, Iowa. A few years later the family relocated to a farm near Dawson, Iowa, where they stayed. He joined the U.S. Navy as soon as he could. He became a medic and was often deployed with the U.S. Marines.
