A tornado tore through an area west of Bluffton Thursday, damaging houses, ripping down trees, and flipping automobiles. A rare Tornado Emergency was issued for the Wadena area after confirmed tornados touched down near Bluffton, Wadena, Sebeka and Nimrod. A Tornado Warning was issued for East Otter Tail County Thursday including Perham and New York Mills. As a system with possible tornadic activity moved into the area from the southwest.
The Perham Area Chamber of Commerce and the Perham Lions would like to announce that registrations are now being accepted for the 13th Annual Cal Miller Memorial Bicycle Race. This year's race will take place on Sunday, August 24, at 9 a.m. Preregister by mail or register on race day beginning at 8 a.m. Please note this is a change of date from previous publications.

Activity fees will be in the range of $250-400 per student, per activity, at many schools already this fall.
The inaugural Run 'Round the Rose will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 7 a.m. The race will start from the regionally renown Spanky's Stone Hearth Restaurant and continuing for a 12 mile scenic route around beautiful Rose Lake. Runners will find the route both scenic and challenging as it circles Rose Lake on black-top county roads and highways and maintained gravel/dirt secondary roads.

It drove him as a teen in high school sports and in the classroom to be a better student. It drove him to the military after graduating from Perham High School. When Luke lost his right leg in an IED accident while serving in Iraq 18 months ago, he lost more than his leg. He lost his ability to compete. For a while. He spent 11 months in San Antonio, Texas recovering from his injuries. "I became active again," Luke said.
Perham softball leagues forming Anyone interested in forming a team in the Perham Men's League or Co-Rec Softball Leagues for this summer should contact Randy Skoog at 346-8072 by April 10. The Men's League will play on Thursday nights and the Co-Rec League will play on Tuesday nights.
