Late October and November brings to Bemidji a full schedule of special events, programs and services at your Public Library. As we continue with our theme of Teen Read Month, at 5 p.m. on Friday, library will be hosting a "Hobbit Party" for teens. Come dressed as your favorite character from the enormously popular novel by J.R.R. Tolkien. Costumes are encouraged, refreshments will be served, there will be Hobbit-inspired games to play, and a fun time will be had by all. And adults who are Hobbit fans are welcome, too. Our next musical event 4:30 p.m.
I hope you haven't been worrying that after the blitz of events at the library's successful Book Festival in June -- that we had run out of steam. Please know we are anything but done for the summer. About the only downtime I see on our schedule is when we were closed for the Fourth. Apart from the holiday -- we have a great lineup of special services and activities for all ages during the remainder of the summer. On Wednesday, from 7 to 8 p.m., the library will co-sponsor "Fostering Wellness through Participatory Art Making." Join Kairos Alive!
