Myrtle Grace Danks, 89, of Park Rapids, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids. She was born Sept. 16, 1919 in rural Park Rapids to Henry and Iona (Whitcomb) Brissett. She attended Park Rapids School. She married James Alfred Danks.
Judith "Judy" Kay Patton, 63, of Park Rapids, died Feb. 23, 2009 following a battle against cancer. She was born on Sept. 30, 1945 in Devils Lake, N.D. to Merril and Nina (Roth) Steinke. During her younger years, she attended school in North Dakota until her family moved to Park Rapids during her high school years. She graduated from Park Rapids High School with the class of 1964. She married Bruce Patton on July 9, 1966 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. They had three children: Wayne, Sandra and Paul. She gained employment with the H.W.

Sandra Kay Olson Gilleran, 61, of Mt. Vernon, Ore., died Feb. 14, 2009 in an auto accident. She was born June 12, 1947 in Bemidji and grew up in Lake George. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in John Day, Ore., and was employed by Grant County. She is survived by her husband, Leo, of Mt.
Dean W. Hedlund, 89, formerly of Park Rapids, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Etta; four children: Dennis, Marietta Cyr, Thomas (Sue) and Ruth (Yung) Yip; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Donna. Private services and interment will be held. Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association. Barbara Jean Kappes, 61, of Park Rapids, died Friday, Feb 20, 2009 at Innovis Health Services in Fargo, N.D. She was born March 8, 1947 in Park Rapids to John Robert and Mabel Lovis (Fegre) Knobloch. She grew up and attended school in Park Rapids, where she graduated from high school in 1965. She went on to attend nursing school in Brainerd and after two years she received her LPN license. She moved to Coon Rapids where she began her nursing career. She was blessed with two children. She returned to Park Rapids in 1983 and in 1984 she began working at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
Gail (Larson) Buerkley, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids. She was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Pine Point Township, Ponsford, to Henry and Grace (Palmer) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed at Ponsford Evangelical Lutheran Church. She attended country school and received her 8th grade diploma from Detroit Lakes. On Sept. 26, 1941 she married Albert Buerkley, of Fredonia, N.D.

Albert A. Srnsky, 93, of Osage, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes. He was born May 25, 1915 in to Frank and Anne (Trnka) Srnsky in Goodridge, where he received an eighth grade education in a country school near his home. His family moved to the Tabor/Angus area in the 1930s. He worked on the family farm and on neighboring farms. He married Delvina Boutain on Oct. 29, 1940. The couple settled in the Angus area where they farmed and raised five children.
