Crews from Kerr Athletics Inc. continued work on the FieldTurf at Bemidji State University's Chet Anderson Stadium on Tuesday morning and plan on completing the installation process by the weekend. Kerr will complete the end zones Wednesday and will then begin installing the sideline turf. The field should be ready for game action by Friday, Sept. 6, for the first event on the new turf when the Bemidji State soccer team kicks off its season against Missouri Western at 5 p.m. The Bemidji High School football team will follow with its home opener at 7:30 p.m. against Sauk Rapids-Rice.
Thanks to the dozens of Bemidji Rotary members, the crew from Northwoods Landscaping & Recreation volunteered to help construct a new playground at the Village of Hope on Friday. The project will be completed today with landscaping, officials said. The $16,000 project was funded, half by the local rotarians, the Rotarian District No. 5580 foundation and several local businesses.
