LAKE PARK, MInn.—A Waubun man died after the pickup he was driving drove off a bridge in Lake Park and crashed Thursday night, Sept. 15. According to a report released by Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander: Edwin Stanhope, 48, was driving a pickup northbound on Second Street in Lake Park when it left a bridge above the BNSF railroad tracks about 10:50 p.m.
OTTERTAIL, Minn. -- An unattended body was found overnight on Sept. 16 at the Hoot N Holler parking lot in Ottertail, Minn. Staff at the Hoot-N-Holler confirmed a deceased man was found in the parking lot of the restaurant. Further information about the incident is not yet available, and attempts to reach the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department office have not been returned.
LITCHFIELD, Minn. -- A criminal complaint against a Grove City man details a violent rampage at a Grove City residence Tuesday night, during which the man allegedly grabbed an ax, swung it at multiple vehicles and threatened to kill another man, who fled to a nearby cornfield to call law enforcement.
HITTERDAL, Minn. —Two red swamp crayfish have been found in Tilde Lake just northeast of Hitterdal and it's the first time the invasive species has been confirmed in a Minnesota lake, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The live crayfish were removed from the lake about 30 mles northwest of Fargo-Moorhead and DNR staff are searching the lake for others, according to a DNR news release.
A Superior man is facing charges alleging he brought a minor from Minnesota to Wisconsin on Aug. 20, 2015 with the intent of engaging in sexual activity. Peter Diehl, 32, was indicted in U.S. District Court with transporting a minor in interstate commerce and with the intent of engaging in illegal sexual activity, and with possessing child pornography, according to the U.S. District Court for western Wisconsin. The charges allege that he possessed a cellphone on Sept. 23, 2015 that contained images of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

SUPERIOR, Wis. -- Hours after asking the public’s help for a man wanted in connection with an attempted homicide over the weekend, Superior police announced his arrest Monday. Larry J. Szewcik, 43, who lives in Superior but has no known address, was apprehended on Monday night in Duluth, said Capt. Thomas Champaigne of the Superior Police Department. Szewcik was wanted on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, false imprisonment, substantial battery and strangulation.
