BISMARCK – North Dakota and Minnesota have resolved a longstanding disagreement over reciprocity for concealed weapon licenses. North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem said effective immediately, Minnesota will recognize Class 1 licenses from North Dakota but not Class 2 licenses, which don’t require a shooting proficiency test. All Minnesota license holders now have reciprocity in North Dakota.

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. - -A Thief River Falls man on Tuesday made his first appearance in court on attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting another man multiple times at a birthday party where he wasn’t invited.
OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. - A collision involving a horse-drawn wagon Tuesday morning in Otter Tail County left three men with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Two Hibbing residents died and a third was injured late Saturday night when the side of their vehicle was struck by another vehicle in Sauk Rapids, Minn., authorities reported Monday. The driver of the other vehicle was arrested. Kevin Davey, 51, and Kathy Davey, 45, both of Hibbing, died when their vehicle traveling north on Benton Drive was struck broadside by a vehicle traveling west on Second Street North, the Sauk Rapids Police Department reported. The two were seated in the front of their vehicle.
ST. PAUL -- Laboratory testing has ruled out an amoeba as the cause of death of a 14-year-old Alexandria boy who doctors originally thought died after contracting a rare brain-debilitating condition while swimming in a central Minnesota lake. The testing conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has determined that Hunter Boutain did not die from suspected primary amoebic meningoencephalitis as reported in early July, but instead from streptococcal meningoencephalitis.
EMILY - A pilot escaped injuries Monday morning when the floatplane he was flying crashed on Mary Lake, northeast of Emily, said Lt. Joe Meyer of the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office. The pilot was flying from an airport in Buffalo to his seasonal cabin on Mary Lake. The pilot was attempting to land on Mary Lake, when the floatplane crashed and flipped over on the water. It appears the pilot was having issues with the landing gear, Meyer said. Witnesses saw the plane crash and went out on the water to help the man.
GOODRIDGE, Minn. -- Law enforcement officers have taken a 23-year-old suspect into custody in relation to an early morning shooting in rural Pennington County, according to the Pennington County Sheriff's Office. Dispatchers received multiple 911 calls at about 2:40 a.m. Sunday regarding shots fired, according to a press release issued about noon today. Callers reported a person had been shot in the chest at a residence in rural Pennington County, the release says.
ALASKA TOWNSHIP -- A pursuit on the Red Lake Reservation Friday evening ended when a Beltrami County Sheriff's deputy was hit by the suspect vehicle. Red Lake Reservation authorities were chasing a 2015 Ford Focus about 5:30 p.m.
