GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Mark Lindquist has signed on for another year of singing the national anthem at the University of North Dakota’s men's hockey games according to a news release. The singer, actor and co-founder of the Fargo motivational speaking firm Breath Is Limited performed several times in 2013 before deciding to sing full time in 2014 and again this year for the 2015-16 season.
BISMARCK – A Williston woman who has asked to remain anonymous picked her own numbers when she won a $2 million Powerball prize last weekend, state lottery officials said Wednesday in announcing she had claimed her winnings. The lucky winner has no immediate plans for the prize winnings as the win has yet to really set in, she told lottery officials. The winner also said she always had a list in her mind of what she would do if she won, but when she found out she was the newest North Dakota millionaire, her mind went blank.
BRAINERD, Minn. -- A 63-year-old Brainerd man who is charged with punching a deputy in the face after a confrontation over his dog who was killing chickens at a nearby residence has been taken in custody. Larry Walter Prahm was arrested late on Labor Day at his rural Brainerd home, where he was also seen loading a firearm when the deputy came to his door after a vehicle chase from the nearby home, said the Crow Wing County sheriff’s office.
MENTOR, Minn. -- A St. Cloud man died after diving into a lake Saturday in northwestern Minnesota. The victim has been identified as Todd James Steinke, according to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Department.
BECKER COUNTY, Minn. – Three people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash in Becker County on Sunday. The Minnesota State Patrol reports the crash happened at 12:22 p.m. Sunday on Highway 59 near mile marker 259. Paul Kuehn, 47, was stopped in a Chevy Silverado facing northbound on Highway 59, waiting to turn left into a flea market.

A Powerball ticket matching Saturday night's drawing is worth $2 million. The ticket matched all five white balls, making it worth a cool $1 million, and because the player added the Power Play feature, the prize doubled.
MOORHEAD, Minn. – A Moorhead man is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl he knew from last October through March, according to court documents. Mitchell Blaine Hines, 59, was charged Wednesday in Clay County District Court with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony. Court documents state the girl told Moorhead police Aug. 19 that Hines had touched her inappropriately on a number of occasions.
ALEXANDRIA, S.D. -- A Cloquet, Minn., woman arrested for her involvement in an attempted robbery was sentenced Friday to 95 days in prison. Kelsey Souder, 20, pleaded no contest to conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with an Oct. 26 robbery attempt at a gas station in Alexandria, S.D. She was sentenced to five years in the state penitentiary, with all but 95 days of the sentence to be suspended. She also received credit for five days of time already served, knocking her stay in the penitentiary down to 90 days.
FARGO - Fargo police are set to release images from surveillance video that they think may have captured the getaway vehicle in armed robbery late Thursday that left a Taco John’s employee with a gunshot wound. “We have absolutely no leads at this time,” said Fargo Police Lt. Mike Mitchell, adding that police are reviewing surveillance video from cameras surrounding the Taco John’s at 2601 32nd Avenue South, including traffic cams in the area.
