ROSEAU, Minn. - A Roseau man is severely hurt after a fight in Roseau County this weekend. According to a GoFundMe page Jordan Brateng was trying to break up a fight and sustained serious injuries. He was airlifted from Roseau to the Hennepin County Medical Center and went into surgery. He sustained a fractured skull and brain bleeding. The sheriff's office confirmed the incident but plans to release their report at a later time.
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. - The suspect in an apparent murder has been identified by the Fergus Falls Police Department.
BAUDETTE, Minn. -- Trial dates have been set for a Baudette woman accused of stealing from a GoFundMe account she set up for three men who died in a boating accident on Lake of the Woods. Retina Reyellen LaValla, 28, was charged in February in Lake of the Woods District Court with two counts of felony theft after the Sheriff's Department said she used some of the donated money to pay for various bills and groceries.
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. – A homicide investigation is underway after police found someone dead in a Fergus Falls home. Police responded to a call for assistance around 10:30 p.m.

BUFFALO, Minn. -- Wright County Sheriff Joseph Hagerty is looking for two people of interest in severe beating of 19-year-old Buffalo woman. On Wednesday, about 8 a.m., Cheyenne Lee Clough was found unresponsive in the entrance to Crow Springs County Park about six miles south of Buffalo. She was transported to North Memorial Hospital In Robbinsdale where she remains in critical condition.
LITCHFIELD – The luck of the horseshoe was apparently with a farrier from Meeker County. Joseph Yanish, a professional farrier from Litchfield, won $1 million May 14 playing Powerball. Yanish and his family claimed the prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Roseville. He is the third Minnesotan to win a $1 million Powerball prize so far this year. Yanish said he won the $1 million prize on an “impulse purchase” he made at a Casey’s General Store in St. Cloud.
CROOKSTON, Minn. -- A convicted sex offender was sentenced Thursday to eight and a half years in prison for sexual conduct involving two children. Marcus Gene Hill, 33, of East Grand Forks, pleaded guilty in April in Polk County District Court to two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and he was dismissed on two other charges Thursday: first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct.
FRAZEE, Minn. -- One person was stabbed in a huge fight involving men and women in an alley in Frazee in northwest Minnesota about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. "We were told there were knives involved, and several officers responded to the scene," Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander said. A witness watched the fight break out from inside a nearby apartment building..
