WILLMAR, Minn. — The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing vulnerable adult. Marissa Kristine Quade, 20, was reported missing Thursday by her family. The Sheriff’s Office says she is currently under a civil commitment. According to a news release, she is believed to be with 34-year-old Vernie Delbosque. Delbosque drives a maroon 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, Minnesota license plate 222-KBJ.
MILLE LACS LAKE, Minn. -- One punch during an encounter at Nitti's Hunter's Point Resort near Mille Lacs Lake on Saturday reportedly resulted in the death of one man and the jailing of another. David Taute, 46, Prior Lake, was found unresponsive Saturday and later died at a Twin Cities hospital. David Stay, 44, Brooklyn Center, was arrested at Nitti's and subsequently charged with first-degree manslaughter and assault.
MCGREGOR, Minn. -- Next year's Minnesota Governor's Fishing Opener will be held on the Mississippi River near St. Cloud. The announcement was made at the celebration meal at the Minnesota National Golf Course north of McGregor Saturday evening. Some 350 guests at the 69th annual event enjoyed catching a mix of smaller walleye on Big Sandy Lake in frigid temperatures Saturday morning. They then celebrated the day with a meal at the golf course.
THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn.--Arctic Cat, the snowmobile and all-terrain vehicle manufacturer with a plant in Thief River Falls, said last week that its fourth-quarter sales fell short of expectations. In a financial release issued Thursday, the Minnesota-based company reported net sales of $121.4 million, 22.7 percent higher than the same quarter last year. It reported a net loss of $16.9 million during the quarter, down from last year, when it marked a $21.5 million net loss.
FARGO — A Moorhead, Minn., man pleaded guilty on Monday, May 16, in Cass County District Court in Fargo to a charge of gross sexual imposition. The charge against Mitchell B. Hines, 60, accused him of inappropriately touching and exposing himself to a 10-year-old girl. According to court documents, the incidents happened between June 2014 and April 2015. Sentencing will be at a later date.
FARGO — A Minneapolis man was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Fargo on Monday to 14 years in prison for one count of sex trafficking of children. After the sentence is served, Anthony L. Sims, 21, also known as Mar Mar, will be on 10 years of supervised release. The case came to light in January 2015, when a Fargo police officer encountered the 15-year-old victim during a traffic stop.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. -- A bison calf that tourists at Yellowstone National Park put in their vehicle last week had to be euthanized after its herd rejected it, park officials said Monday. The incident led park officials to make renewed calls for visitors to respect wildlife and safety regulations. In recent weeks, the park says visitors “have been engaging in inappropriate, dangerous and illegal behavior with wildlife.”
BATTLE LAKE, Minn. - One man is in custody after shooting another man outside a Battle Lake bar early Sunday.
CASS LAKE—The Cass County Sheriff's Office reported a Level 3 predatory offender will soon be released near the Cass Lake area. Michael Lee Littlewolf, 46, is scheduled for release from the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Stillwater on Monday. Littlewolf has a history of sexual conduct and contact with female victims, age 26 to adult, and of holding victims against their will. Conduct included ordering a victim to remove her clothing and included penetration.
A woman was treated for minor smoke inhalation after a house fire in Hibbing on Thursday morning. The Hibbing Fire Department reported that crews were dispatched to the home on the 1100 block of Michigan Street, in the northeastern part of the city, just before 10 a.m. Crews found smoke showing from the exterior of the single-family home.
