GRAND MARAIS, Minn. -- Six people from Wisconsin traveling in a motorhome escaped life-threatening injury during a harrowing incident on Minnesota Highway 61 in northeast Minnesota on Tuesday. The motorhome traveling northeast in Cook County and driven by 66-year-old Mark Damaske, of Mequon, Wis., veered to avoid a small SUV pulling a camper and traveling in the opposite direction that had crossed over the center line, the Minnesota State Patrol said in a news release.
DICKINSON, N.D. -- A Dickinson man wanted by authorities for escaping a South Dakota minimum-security facility nearly two weeks ago was arrested Tuesday morning by Dickinson police after he called them to report he had been punched in the face.
MORRIS — Stevens County emergency responders were called to the Morris Municipal Airport on Thursday, May 26 to assist with an emergency landing of a small plane. The Morris Fire Department was called out to the airport just after 6:30 p.m. to prepare for the emergency landing. The plane was experiencing mechanical issues with the landing gear. The MFD responded with two fire engines, one heavy rescue truck, one brush truck and one water tanker. They also set up cones on the grass runway where they applied foam and water in case of fire during the landing.

MILACA, Minn. -- Multiple felony charges have been filed against a Princeton, Minn., man for defrauding an elderly Milaca business owner out of more than $350,000. Adam R. Reichow, 43, was charged in Mille Lacs County Court with two counts of racketeering, three counts of theft by swindle and two counts of falsifying tax returns, according to a state Department of Commerce release.

MOORHEAD — A pedestrian was struck by a distracted driver in a north Moorhead neighborhood Monday afternoon, police said. Around 1:50 p.m., Monday, May 30, a male driver was headed north on 18 ½ Street North, near the intersection of 12th Avenue North when he was looking up directions on his cell phone, police said. The driver jumped a curb and struck a male pedestrian sitting nearby before hitting a tree. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver was to be cited for distracted driving.
AITKIN — An Aitkin man died in a single-vehicle rollover crash late Saturday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Mason Espeseth, 25, was traveling east in a 2008 Ford Super Duty pickup truck near 33044 Deer Street when he lost control of the vehicle, driving off the road on the right side. Authorities said Espeseth overcorrected the vehicle, which then swerved first into the left ditch before rolling several times and coming to rest on its wheels in the right ditch. The state patrol said Espeseth was wearing a seatbelt.
AITKIN -- A 25-year-old man died early Sunday after the truck he was driving went off the road, rolling several times. The crash was reported at 11:44 p.m. Saturday on Deer Street in Aitkin County.
WOLFORD, N.D.--A Saturday afternoon crash in Pierce County involving a horse-drawn wagon ended a Rugby, N.D., man's life, killed two horses and injured multiple passengers after they were thrown from the wagon.
