LITTLE FALLS, Minn. — The reward offered by a private party for information that would lead to the identification of the person who shot and killed 41-year-old Terrence Brisk east of Little Falls has been increased to $20,000. Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen stated there are two anonymous donors. The reward previously was $10,000.
Stewart Mills has dropped his request for a recount in Minnesota's 8th Congressional District race. The Republican challenger issued a statement Friday stating that he reached the decision "after much consideration, thought, and prayer along with consulting with my family and supporters." U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan, DFL-Crosby, defeated Mills in the Nov. 8 election by 2,009 votes among the nearly 357,000 cast.
FARGO – The 55-year-old pilot of a Weather Modification plane died in a crash south of Fargo on Thursday, Dec. 1, North Dakota Highway Patrol Cpt. Bryan Niewind said. The twin-engine, Cessna Model 340 plane crash-landed about 4:30 p.m. about a mile north of Cass County 16 in a field about a half mile east of Interstate 29 near a stand a trees along the bank of the Wild Rice River.

KERKHOVEN, Minn. — At midnight Friday, 83 Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg High School band members and their chaperones from central Minnesota will load onto buses and begin their trip to Hawaii for the 75th anniversary observance of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The band will represent Minnesota at the official observance Dec. 7 on the USS Battleship Missouri Memorial. The Missouri was the site of the formal Japanese surrender which ended World War II.
FARIBAULT, Minn. -- A 39-year-old Faribault woman died in a collision with a semi Tuesday afternoon in southeast Minnesota. Marisa Bocanegra was a passenger in a van that had just pulled out into the intersection of Minnesota Highway 57 and County Road 11 in Goodhue County when it collided with the semi driven by Matthew Weis of Mantorville, Minn. The female driver of the van, a 15-year-old girl, was seriously injured. The semi driver had no apparent injury.
VIRGINIA, Minn. -- A Tower man was wearing a bulletproof vest, armed with a handgun and carrying a bag of methamphetamine when he was shot by a St. Louis County Sheriff's Office deputy following a vehicle pursuit last week on the Iron Range, according to charges filed Tuesday. Aaron Lee Boshey, 27, faces four felony charges in connection with the incident that started in Virginia and ended in the woods about six miles west of Eveleth after a 17-minute pursuit.
An airliner that took off earlier today from Grand Forks International Airport made a diversionary landing at Hector International Airport in Fargo after experiencing in-flight engine issues. Jordan Dahl, operations specialist at the Fargo airport, said Delta Flight 4813 was bound for Minneapolis before touching down early. The plane's pilots didn't declare an emergency situation, Dahl said, and brought the plane in as a safety precaution.
FARGO – Emergency crews found a body after putting out an apartment fire Wednesday, Nov. 30, in north Fargo. Firefighters responded to the fire in a unit on the second floor of a two-story apartment complex at 802 14th St. N. about 12:30 p.m. The fire was under control by about 1 p.m. After firefighters put out the fire, they discovered a body. The age and whether it is a male or female is unknown. The building was evacuated.
A man who was taken into custody after a car he was driving rolled and caught fire Tuesday night near the Kennedy Bridge in East Grand Forks remains unidentified Wednesday morning. The man had no identification, has refused to identify himself and was driving a stolen vehicle, according to the East Grand Forks Police Department. Police say charges will be filed against the man, who is in custody, once he is identified.
