A Cloquet man who was found dead in his deer stand from a gunshot wound has been identified. Carlton County Sheriff Kelly Lake identified the man as 73-year-old Leland Gene Carlson.

PAUL -- Law enforcement throughout Minnesota issued 4,351 citations for not buckling up during a recent seat belt enforcement campaign, almost 1,200 fewer than a year ago, the state Department of Public Safety said. Deputies, police officers and state troopers from 312 agencies also issued 166 child seat citations, 38 more than last year’s campaign.
LAUDERDALE, Minn. -- A Lauderdale man thought he had hit it off with a woman he recently met through Facebook and who had come over to his place for drinks. But while the 22-year-old man went to his bedroom to prepare for a romantic evening, the woman was letting two masked men into his home, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Ramsey County District Court. The men hit him with a revolver, shot him in the leg and robbed him of $160, the complaint said.

MOORHEAD – The cause of death of a Clay County inmate last week has not yet been determined, Sheriff Bill Bergquist said Tuesday, Nov. 8. Bergquist said a preliminary autopsy has been completed on 19-year-old Abby Lee Rudolph of Fargo. But the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office in St. Paul is waiting on toxicology results. “There is nothing new,” Bergquist said. “They did the autopsy and they’re waiting for all of the results, so that could take a month.”

Joseph Thor Perkins, 35, of Apple Valley was conditionally released from the Washington County jail in lieu of $200,000 bail on charges of felony solicitation of a child to engage in sexual conduct.
DONNELLY, Minn. -- Law enforcement officials learned a Donnelly man was driving under the influence when he drove two different cars he mistakenly thought he owned, a complaint filed in Stevens County District Court alleges. John Robert Bristle, 72, of Donnelly, drove another owner's 2007 Chevrolet away from DeToy's Restaurant in Morris Nov. 4 while intoxicated, the complaint alleges. Bristle drove that car to the Morris Liquor Store where he left in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala that he wrongly thought was his, the complaint alleges.
WADENA, Minn. – Authorities have identified a female victim and a suspect in a fatal shooting after a man led authorities on a chase through Wadena and Otter Tail Counties on Monday, Nov. 7. Around 2:30 p.m. Monday, the sheriff's office was called to the 300 block of Bryant Avenue Southwest in Wadena where a man had a gun. When an officer arrived at the home, a man was driving away and a female identified as Margaret St. Marie, 27, of Wadena, was found dead in the home from a gunshot wound, the police department reported.
