Grand Forks Police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred Saturday afternoon. First responders were dispatched to the 1100 block of North 55th Street Saturday at approximately 4 p.m. The deceased woman was identified by Lt. Brett Johnson Monday as 24-year-old Kristen Guillemette. The woman's death was unattended, Johnson said, meaning she died before authorities arrived.
WILLMAR, Minn. – A Willmar man accused of exposing himself to a woman at the Willmar Public Library has been sentenced to two years of probation and stayed jail time. Jesus Gabriel Rivera, 34, pleaded guilty in November in Kandiyohi County District Court to gross misdemeanor indecent exposure.

Steven A. Breker, 62, of West Fargo was sentenced to 150 days in jail after earlier pleading guilty to one count of solicitation.

MINNEAPOLIS -- One man was dead and a woman was injured by gunfire in downtown Minneapolis early Sunday morning, authorities said. Police responded to reports of gunfire on the 300 block of Third Avenue North at about 2:19 a.m. Officers arrived to find two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis and was being treated for what was described as a non-life threatening injury.
FARGO - A 32-year-old woman was stabbed in the leg by a man she had taken into her vehicle in the downtown area early Sunday, Jan. 8, a Fargo police spokesman said. About 1:05 a.m., the woman was driving on Broadway when she was flagged down by a man who appeared intoxicated and asked for a ride to a restaurant, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
ST. PAUL -- Minnesota officials say 397 people died in traffic fatalities on state roadways in 2016, a number that could climb near the 2015 final figure of 411 as more data is evaluated. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety projects the final number to be 412, it said in a news release Thursday, Jan. 5. Pedestrian deaths increased to 60 in a preliminary count, the highest number since 61 died in 1991 and a 50 percent increase over the average of the past five years.
BERTHOLD, N.D. -- Authorities seized 11½ pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Tuesday, Jan. 3, and are calling it one of the largest drug busts in North Dakota. Authorities arrested three Washington men, David Salazar, 47, Gregorio Capetillo, 24, and Louis Parra Magana, 19, for misdemeanor drug possession.
