BEMIDJI--A Redby woman was hospitalized after being hit by a car driven by a Fargo man on Highway 2 west of Bemidji. Minnesota State Patrol said the crash happened late Thursday around 11:30 p.m. Thirty-seven-year-old Eric Tofte of Fargo was heading east in a Chevy Impala. Twenty-five-year-old Larissa Oakgrove was walking in the right lane when she was hit by Tofte. Oakgrove was taken to Sanford Health in Fargo with critical injuries. Authorities say it's unknown if alcohol was involved.
SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Jazz signed point guard Nate Wolters, a former South Dakota State standout and St. Cloud, Minn., native, to a two-way contract on Wednesday. Terms of the Sept. 13 deal were not released, per team policy, the Jazz said on its website. A second-round NBA draft pick in 2013, Wolters played in Serbia last season after stints with the Milwaukee Bucks and the New Orleans Pelicans. He has appeared in 79 NBA games with 31 starts, averaging 5.8 points and 19.7 minutes per game.
ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Air National Guard has sent 41 airmen in recent days to help aid efforts after Hurricane Irma. Six Soldiers from the Minnesota Army National Guard also departed Monday morning, Sept. 11, to support relief efforts.

PAUL — An International Falls man has been charged with possession of child pornography, identity theft and other crimes after investigators uncovered an identity theft scheme carried out to lure adult and juvenile females into providing nude images of themselves. More victims may be out there, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
WAUBUN, MINN. -- Three people had to be airlifted to Sanford Medical in Fargo on Saturday, September 9 after crashing their vehicle. At approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Kennedy Heisler, 18, of White Earth was driving a 2003 Oldsmobile eastbound on Highway 113 when his vehicle hit a driveway approach and vaulted.
FARMINGTON, Minn. -- A man is facing attempted murder and assault charges in connection to the non-fatal shooting of a 25-year-old woman Sunday night, Sept. 3, in a Farmington neighborhood. Nicholas Orion Carlson, 35, of Farmington, was charged Sept. 6 with attempted second-degree murder with intent to kill, first-degree assault and second-degree assault — all felonies. The attempted murder charge carries a maximum sentence of 40 years if convicted.
SEBEKA, Minn. -- A predatory sex offender is being sought by the Wadena County Sheriff’s office in northwest Minnesota. The offender, Timothy George Bungert, 35, was last registered as living at Becker AvenueSouth in Sebeka. Bungert is about 6-feet tall, weighing 214 pounds, with hazel eyes, brown/gray hair and a medium build.
WEST FARGO -- A man is in custody after the largest drug bust in the West Fargo Police department’s history. According to a release from the police department, the raw marijuana was found after a traffic stop around 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, on Interstate 94.
WILLMAR, Minn. — The swimming beach at Robbins Island Park in Willmar is closed until further notice because of high fecal counts. Employees are conducting tests and maintenance of the water and beach area, according to a news release from the Willmar Public Works Department. Once the water is safe to re-enter, the city will send out another public notification.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minneapolis-based Jostens and the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee plan to bring the jeweler’s 33 championship rings it has created for Super Bowl winners on tour. The tour starts in Minneapolis Sept. 5 with a six-day run at the Star Tribune Atrium at Capella Tower. The rings will then be on display for the Vikings’ Sept. 11 home opener in Vikings Plaza.
