MINNEAPOLIS -- Target laid off another 235 headquarters employees on Tuesday. The Minneapolis-based retailer has now laid off nearly 2,100 Twin Cities workers since March.
EVELETH, Minn. -- A body was found Tuesday in the wreckage of a home that exploded early Monday along U.S. Highway 53 south of Eveleth, authorities said. Initial reports were that the home was unoccupied at the time of the explosion and that no one had been injured.

EVELETH, Minn. -- A house exploded early Monday along U.S. Highway 53 near Eveleth, but authorities said the home was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said the incident, in the 3300 block of U.S. Highway 53 in the Central Lakes area, was reported just after 1 a.m. when a motorist reported debris in the roadway. The first officials on the scene discovered that the debris was from a house that had exploded.
ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a crash that killed one early Monday morning. The patrol reports Charles L. Wall, 89, of Pequot Lakes, Minn., was crossing U.S. Highway 10 in southeast St. Cloud near the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center when his Ford Taurus was hit by a Cadillac sedan driven by Lynn M. Kaarto, 55, of Bloomington, Minn.
GARRISON, Minn. -- The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death after it received a report of man lying alongside a road in Garrison Sunday. Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sunday, emergency personnel responded to a call reporting a man possibly in need of medical care. The man was lying on the shoulder of County Road 26 near Rolling Hills Resort Road west of Lake Mille Lacs. Rescue efforts were attempted, although it was determined the man was deceased.

BRAINERD -- Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl Friday released the name of the 21-year-old man who died on Rush Lake on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Ryan Giguere of Eagan. At 4:36 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff's office received a report of a possible personal watercraft accident on Rush Lake. Giguere had been operating the watercraft and had entered the water. Witnesses were able to remove Giguere from the water and transport him to shore, where resuscitation efforts were performed.
ALEXANDRIA, Minn. -- A 28-year-old Hutchinson man died in a rollover on Highway 29 south of Alexandria early Friday morning. According to the State Patrol, Rhett R. Peters was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer north at about 3:45 a.m. and was entering a curve just north of the Pope County and Douglas County line. The Explorer went off the road and into the ditch, crossing South Maple Lake Road. It came back on to Highway 29 and rolled over.
DEVILS LAKE--No charges are likely to be pressed for the May death of a Devils Lake jail inmate who was found dead in his cell just hours after being jailed. The death of John Wilke, 42, was attributed to suicide, from a "mixed drug toxicity" from a lethal combination of drugs, Devils Lake Police Detective Sue Schwab said in June. While the investigation is not officially closed, Ramsey County State's Attorney Lonnie Olson said charges are not expected.
